El potro mexican cafe

I enjoyed the food very much. The service was good but hit-n-miss during our visit. I was surprised to see table chips with salsa and queso, that was cool. Portions were good and price was as expected. Certainly a new spot on my list.

The food was fantastic with the portion-size being almost too generous. The chips were fresh, the salsa good, but the queso dip stole the show. It was so good we had to order more. However, the area we were sat in so absolutely freezing. It's nice to have AC in August, but this was so cold I had to go get my dad a jacket out of the car. Even I was cold and I prefer the cold, but this was too much. The biggest issue, though, was our server. He spoke so quietly that none of us could really hear him and I was only two feet from him. We had to ask him to repeat himself numerous times and at times we still could not understand or hear what he was saying. This is not to say he was not a good server, he did get our orders correct, was quick with the refills, and quick to clear the table of dishes. It was delicious and I'll definitely be back for more.

Take the whole family, or just the wife or girlfriend. This place is amazing!! This is NOT some " Tex-Mex" place. I have never had anything bad here!! Boracho beans, Verde platters, Enchaladas, and everything else . Service is Top-notch.

Great food, reasonable prices. Chips and salsa came out with a free bowl if queso, which made us very happy. Food all hot, fresh and tasty. Generous portions. Dessert was outstanding!! Definitely moved to the top of our list of favorite Mexican places in Lee's Summit.

We really enjoy this place and frequent it often. Complimentary chips, salsa and queso with spicy red salsa and salsa Verde available also on request. We appreciate that they are consistent with their food. Tuesdays at this location has import beer pint specials and Wednesdays they have margarita specials. Pictured is 2 deep fried tacos, 1 ground beef and 1 shredded chicken. Service is always professional, friendly and spot on.

Everyone here had a great attitude and accommodated my food allergies with with sincerity and didn't make me feel bad about asking for the accommodation! I have alpha gal and cannot consume anything from a mammal. I got the chicken and shrimp fajitas. Service was fast and our server was friendly & had a great sense of humor. The manager let us park in a side area with our trailer and let us sit in a closed off section so we could keep an eye on our vehicle and tools! I cannot say enough about how friendly and personable everyone here is!

We were in the area and chose this place based on the reviews on Google. Even on a busy Friday night we were seated immediately. The waiter came right over and surprised us when he brought White Caso to go with our chips and salsa. The menu is huge. Everything from deep fried tacos, burritos and combo platter standards to fine dining specialties. Drinks came out within a minute. Food came out incredibly fast, piping hot and was amazing and reasonably priced to boot. I must admit that I saw a few reviews about bad service, but I thought they were probably one of the most efficient wait staffs I've ever seen. I live 45 minutes away from El Potro, but I think it's thoroughly both the trip.

Food was outstanding Server was personable. My dad really enjoyed his Fajitas and birthday here! He loved their tortillas they make in house! Churro Cake was outstanding as well!
